- Gee, where I donate plasma the procedure only takes 1/2 hour. The blood is
- returned via the same needle that extracts everything in the first place.
- Yes, that means I only get stuck with one needle. On the other hand, when
- I donate just the platelets the procedure then takes 2 hours and I get stuck
- with a needle in each arm. There is a definate difference between donating
- plasma and just the platelets. Also I am only allowed to donate plasma every
- two weeks. And we don't get paid for it either. People who donate, do it
- because it makes them feel good knowing they are helping other people.
