- I am doing preliminary research into getting some sort of
- Health Club Facilities installed at work. We happen to have about
- 55000 square feet of empty factory space at this time (although
- that could change at any time) and I would like to
- quantify a few things so that I can write a proposal to our
- recreational committee (love that beauracracy...)
-
- 1) How many people out there on the net work for a company which:
- a) provides in-building Health Facilities
- b) subsidize or pay for membership fees to a private health club
-
- (this is basically a "keeping up with the Jone's" argument)
-
- If you answer yes to the above question, could you please email me
- with the name of your company. Also, if you don't feel that it is
- too obtrusive, please forward me a name and phone number of a
- personnel administrator or Health Facilities administrator in your
- company so that I could ask some more specific questions.
-
- 2) If your company provides either (a) or (b) in #1 above, approx.
- what percentage of the employee's at your company take advantage
- of these Facilities/Subsidies?
-
- 3) Does anyone know of any articles/papers/books written quantifying:
- a) increase in worker productivity due to use of Health Facilities
- b) decrease in employee sick time claimed
- c) decrease in premiums paid for employee medical insurance.
-
- (always nice to have proof to back you up)
-
- The next step I will take after I get some responses from this post
- is to ask a random sample of our own employees what they think
- of the idea, and if they would use such a facility.
-
- Ironically, the biggest stumbling block will probably be the fact
- that our entire building has no, NOT EVEN ONE, shower in it.
- We have lots of floor space, but it's all tile- however we probably
- have some old carpet we could throw down... we have lots of
- office furniture (like walls, etc...) that could be used to cordon
- off an area.... all in all, this shouldn't be hard to pull off.
-
- Thanks! Please Email me with any info that you have!!!!
