- FWIW, I saw an ad recently for a pair of shoes ($50+, if I remember right)
- which had a 1-2" pad under the ball of the foot. It was being hyped by a
- basketball couch whoo had his team practice (and sometimes scrimmage) in
- these shoes and their vertical leap increased. It does sound like they
- could work but you should also be careful of the extra stress on the
- achille's tendon. Maajor damage could occur if you're not careful. The
- calf raises which someone else suggested would also help (IMHO) but I don't
- think that they'd give the explosivness necessary to really improve your
- jumps.
