- A couple of reasons to put the cabinets in first.
-
- 1) There is probably a good chance you could damage the floor when installing the
- cabinets. I know that when we installed our cabinets we sure didn't want to
- be thinking about protecting the floor. We have a small cut in our floor
- from where a something was dropped while installing a light fixture. :(
-
- 2) If there is any irregularity in the floor (and there will be) you will want to
- put shims under the cabinets to make the level. Having flooring under the front
- edge will probably increase the need to do this.
-
- 3) With the cabinets in first you can cove the floor up the base of the cabinets a
- few inches which makes cleaning the floor much easier IMHO.
