  26.      A great synopsis of Chomsky's work, covering US foreign policy
  27. from the end of World War II to 1992.  This is a great introduction to
  28. Chomsky for those who have never been exposed to any "Alternative"
  29. viewpoint.  It is also a small lightweight book that is cheap and easy
  30. to mail. (I personally have bought and mailed hundreds of these books.
  31. Activists can sell them at "tabling" events just to get the invaluable
  32. information out to the public).

  40.      A moving book about the political prisoners in the U.S., in their
  41. own words.  Very informative about the prison system, itself.  Many of
  42. the prisoners are victims of the F.B.I. Cointelpro efforts (they were
  43. framed) and sentenced very harshly for crimes they did not commit.
  44. This book also contains all the prisoners addresses and encourages
  45. people to publicize their plight and write to them.

  62.      Simon & Schuster gave Pete Brewton a $100,000. advance to write
  63. this book, which is very well researched, but they reneged on the
  64. contract and refused to publish it before the election. It just
  65. reached the bookstores this week and unfortunately it is almost too
  66. close to the election time for it to have a major impact. His thesis
  67. is that the Mafia, the C.I.A. as well as some of the most powerful and
  68. richest people in the country are guilty of looting the Savings and
  69. Loans.  I wanted to get this news out as soon as possible, but I must
  70. admit that I just bought my copy today and haven't had time to read
  71. the whole thing yet.  I did hear him interviewed on KPFA and I must
  72. say that all my research and his interview lead me to believe that
  73. this book is an invaluable resource to point out the reals criminals
  74. and corruption within this country.
