- JR>Should I say ooroo, hooroo, kia ora, ciao,
- JR>sayonara, adieu, adios, or goodbye?!
-
- Ooroo will do for the Australians who don't save their daylight: down
- here we say hooroo. The Kiwis have invaded us in large numbers, so we
- understand kia ora, and I'm in the tourist game (in a museum, that is)
- so sayonara is OK. We have a few Francophones, and many of Italian
- extraction, including next door to us on one side, but Spanish speakers
- are rarer: I suspect we have more Portuguese speakers in Australia.
-
- As for goodbye? Never! I am the Old Man of the Sea, lurking in the air
- waves. You'll never get rid of me now! <6>
