- Ghostscript uses the TEMP environment variable to find the directory
- where it will put its scratch files. Ghostscript assumes that this
- variable, if defined, is the name of a real directory, e.g.
- C:\TEMP
- without a trailing \; Ghostscript always concatenates a \ on the end.
- It never occurred to me that someone might want to use the root
- directory as their temporary directory, but I agree it is not
- unreasonable, so this is a bug. Meanwhile, to work around the
- problem, you can set TEMP to the name of some other directory.
