  20. I have used XVT extensively on MS Windows, and I've done a preliminary
  21. port to the Mac.  It handles the basic stuff very well - windows,
  22. dialogs, standard controls, menus, drawing, and printing.  There have
  23. been times when I needed to write non-portable code to handle things
  24. that XVT doesn't support - palette manipulation, drag and drop, serial
  25. port communications, and icon toolbars.  I've tried to isolate and
  26. minimize the non-portable code so that it's currently 12% of my code
  27. and *shrinking.* (I.e.  my XVT code is growing faster than my
  28. non-portable code.)

  30. XVT probably doesn't include absolutely everything you'll want, but I
  31. doubt any other package would either.  The bottom line for me is that,
  32. if I had to do it again, I'd still go with XVT.
