- One reasonably priced French restaurant that I like is L'Escargot in Cleveland Park.
- The food is good and two people can eat there for about $50-$60 including one glass of
- wine each.
-
- The restaurant next door, Lavandou, is supposed to be good too. It is the only French
- restaurant in DC that is dedicated to the cuisine of a single region of France (Provencal),
- according to P. Richman. I believe that it has reasonable prices too.
-
- Of course there's always Au Pied De Chochon in Georgetown. It's not as fancy as the
- two mentioned above, but it's open 24 hours and it has a laid back atmosphere. Bistro
- Francais is also in Georgetown and has an early bird special most nights. The special
- includes salad or soup, an entree, dessert and coffee (I think), and runs around $30-$40
- for two.
-
- On Veteran's Day I tried a crepe place called Crepe Ala Carte on Connecticut Ave just south
- of Dupont Circle. The food was nice and fresh, and the menu had an appealing list of crepes
- and sandwiches, but I thought it was a bit expensive given the portion sizes. In absolute
- terms, however, it wasn't expensive. Lunch for two was $20 including tax, tip, etc., and I
- think the dinner prices are the same.
-
- Anybody else have other suggestions, or comments about these places?
