- | In article <26119@optima.cs.arizona.edu> you write:
- | >On a color IPC, "xdpyinfo" tells me that I have two screens, and I have
- | >a twm menu entry of
- | >
- | > f.warptoscreen "next"
- | >
- | >But that menu entry doesn't work (can't take me to the other screen).
- | >And if I move the cursor off one edge of screen #0, it comes out from
- | >the other edge and still can't switch to screen #1 as it supposed to.
- |
- | If nobody else has said so already:
- |
- | The IPC has a bwtwo mono framebuffer on its motherboard. Colour IPCs
- | have an additional cgthree SBus board (or GX I suppose) for the colour
- | monitor. MIT X will use all the framebuffers it finds, so xdpyinfo
- | reports two `screens' but if you only have one physical monitor you
- | obviously only have one physical screen. The IPC is not like the 4/110
- | (I think), which had a mono overlay plane that could be displayed on
- | the same monitor as the colour output. Borrow a mono monitor from
- | someone and plug it into the other video connector on the back of the
- | IPC and all should become clear.
