  12. Looked for this in the FAQ, no dice...

  14. Often some of our users run X clients on remote sparcstations, and
  15. terminate their local X server without shutting it down properly.  The
  16. effect is to leave pty's open on the sparc, making it look as though
  17. they're still logged in.  This happens most often to owners of PC's
  18. who run X servers (like MacX or whatever).

  20. Does anyone know how to recognize these inactive X clients (xterms),
  21. and clear out their utmp entries (without rebooting)?
