- I have an RS/6000 Model 320 running AIX 3.2. There's only four full-time users
- on the systems. Until the other day, I had 16MB memory with 48MB page space (I
- originally had 32MB page space, but the VMM would occassionally reach out and
- kill a process when page space utilization was high!). 16MB of memory is
- obviously not enough -- From what I understand now, IBM recommends 16MB as
- the minimum. I upgraded to 48MB of memory the other day. When I turned the
- system on, I used svmon to check memory and page space use -- All but 5MB of
- memory was being used and over 30MB of page space was being used!
-
- Does the system allocate as much memory as it can grab? What kind of memory
- requirements should I expect in a production environment with say, 25 users?
