- Our new Exabyte 8500 didn't work properly on our suns. We get a errormessage
- like 'Now at 4.0 Mb syncronous " for every block we reads from the tapeunit.
- The message indicates SCSI-bus resets I think. I've borrowed an old Exabyte
- 8200 from a Vaxstation II/GPX and it works perfectly.
-
- I've talked with the vendor, but they don't know anything about this problem.
-
- I've tried with some different terminators without success. If I hooks the
- 8500 to the Vaxstation, the 8500 works fine and I can't see any problems
- using it on the old slow Vaxstation.
-
- Somebody told me that we maybe need change some setups and configurations
- for the SunOS kernel. Anybody knows more? Please mail me with some hints...
-
- The suns we tried is SLC and IPC. The revision of SunOS is 4.1.2 and the
- Exabyte is from 920330 and should have the latest revision of eeprom-software.
