  12. A word of caution when ordering a Sparcstation 10:

  14. Sun is now shipping the Sparc 10's, but when I received mine I found out
  15. that Sun has apparently departed from their old standard of putting
  16. thickwire Ethernet ports on all their workstations. The Sparc 10 comes
  17. with twisted pair, standard! To connect thickwire, you need (surprise!)
  18. a $60 adaptor cable that turns the audio (AUI) port into a dual port
  19. (audio and thickwire Enet). Pretty bogus, huh?

  21. So be sure to budget an additional $60 (and order it *with* your box,
  22. or you'll wait 5 days for Sun"Express") if you don't use 10BASE-T (i.e.
  23. if your Sun is not a PC server).
