- Hello again,
-
- I'm running Solaris 1.1 (OpenWindows 3.0) AnswerBook binaries on a 4.1.3 server
- and setting my display to my workstation running the Solaris 2.0
- (SunOS5.0/OpenWindows 3.1) xnews server. The navigator comes up just fine but
- when the navigator runs docviewer:
-
- 1. docviewer never comes up, although it appears in the ps listing
- in state IW.
-
- 2. navigator is frozen with the stopwatch cursor.
-
- All other 4.1.3/OpenWindows 3.0 clients (run on the 4.1.3 system)
- display fine on my workstation
- (even SunSolve 1.1 which is very AnswerBook-like).
- I'm not sure I was able to convince the Sun support person I talked to
- that I wasn't trying to run 4.1.3 client AnswerBook binaries directly
- on my Solaris 2.0 system. They were not able to explain to my
- satisfaction why what I was trying to do wouldn't work. Can anyone
- else explain?
-
- Thanks,
-
- Jonathan Neher
