- yes.
- I think it can be very easily demonstrated that direct automount maps
- are more trouble then they are worth. Long ago I converted all of
- my direct maps to indirect and then left symlinks where needed.
- e.g. /usr/local -> /vol/local (soon to be /opt/local (?))
- This has proven to be much more reliable and much easier to manage
- since you don't have to restart the automounter every time you make
- a change in the indirect maps.

- In the old days many applications really expected to be put in one
- spot, but now most can be located anywhere. And I think this is a
- good thing. So, you can reconfigure AnswerBook to think it lives
- in /opt/AnswerBook or anywhere else for that matter.
