- Apologies if this has come up before on this newsgroup but I've only
- just now had access to news.
-
- Ever since upgrading to OW3, I've been plagued by not having enough
- space in /var/spool/mail for users default mailboxes. With the version
- of mailtool in OW2, I use to get users to have
- 'set nohold'
- in their .mailrc file so that read messages would automatically be moved
- to their private mbox. But now with OW3 version, this no longer happens,
- Mailtool ignores the nohold variable. Is this a known bug and is there a
- patch?
-
- A better solution would be to have mail deliver messages direct to a users
- private mbox and never have it appear in /usr/spool/mail at all. The
- environment variable MAIL can be used to make mail and mailtool use a
- different default InBox (e.g. setenv MAIL /home/user/mail/InBox) but mail
- is still delivered to /usr/spool/mail. What needs changing to get sendmail
- (or /bin/mail??) to deliver to the file specified by the MAIL variable?
-
- Can anyone help me out?
