  13. Apologies if this has come up before on this newsgroup but I've only
  14. just now had access to news.

  16. Ever since upgrading to OW3, I've been plagued by not having enough
  17. space in /var/spool/mail for users default mailboxes. With the version
  18. of mailtool in OW2, I use to get users to have 
  19. 'set nohold'
  20. in their .mailrc file so that read messages would automatically be moved
  21. to their private mbox. But now with OW3 version, this no longer happens,
  22. Mailtool ignores the nohold variable.  Is this a known bug and is there a
  23. patch?

  25. A better solution would be to have mail deliver messages direct to a users
  26. private mbox and never have it appear in /usr/spool/mail at all. The
  27. environment variable MAIL can be used to make mail and mailtool use a 
  28. different default InBox (e.g. setenv MAIL /home/user/mail/InBox) but mail
  29. is still delivered to /usr/spool/mail. What needs changing to get sendmail
  30. (or /bin/mail??) to deliver to the file specified by the MAIL variable?
