- Hi netters!
-
- The problem is we have only a limited amount of money available (who
- has more ? 8), but our preference is best computing performance prior
- to excellent graphics speed. So SGI's Iris Indigo R4K with entry
- graphics would be our choice ... BUT only 60 Hz vertical refresh rate.
- My personal opinion is that 70 Hz is the minimum refresh rate for a
- good display one can work with without getting tired/headached. SGI
- claimes to have a special technique for obtaining better results even
- with 60 Hz. On the other hand some workstations (HP 7xx, IBM RS/6000)
- offer 70+ Hz displays for reasonable prices (even a $2000 PC has
- already at least a 1025x768 256 colors 70 Hz display). So here is my
- question:
-
- Are there any experiences with the low (60 Hz) refresh rate of the SGI
- Iris Indigo Entry Graphics.
-
- If there is enough interest I'll post a summary
-
- Thanx
