- TO: Computervision Services World Wide Employees
-
- FROM: Bob Brooks
-
- SUBJECT: Ford Motor Company
-
-
- Computervision Customer Education has just been granted an upgrade from
- our Preferred Supplier rating to the Preferred Long Term Supplier rating.
- This is the top rating a non-production supplier can obtain from Ford
- Motor Company.
-
- Ford Purchasing conducts an ongoing review and rating of suppliers for
- each purchased commodity. In this case, it's technical education. Their
- overall goal of this program is to reduce the total number of suppliers
- for each commodity over a given period of time by 50%, indicating Ford's
- long term confidence in the quality and value of products or services.
-
- In addition to the rating, we have been awarded the UNIX training business
- for four new courses for Ford's Sun workstation users (CAE) by Ford's
- Engineering Workstation Coordinators Group Training Subcommittee:
-
- - UNIX Workstation System Administration
- - Advanced UNIX Workstation System Administration
- - UNIX Workstation TCP/IP & NFS Installation & Implementation
- - UNIX Workstation Programming Topics
-
- This follows the addition of other new courses awarded to us earlier this
- year. These courses were developed/modified specifically to meet Ford's
- needs:
-
- - UNIX for PDGS Users
- - Basic UNIX Concepts and Practices
- - PDGS for Body Tooling
- - PDGS Graphical Programming for CMMs
- - PDGS for Cost Estimators
- - Product Modeling with CADDS
-
- In winning this business this year, we competed with several OEMs, third
- party training providers, and Ford internal training groups.
-
- As of today, our U.S. customer education training revenue from Ford this
- year has passed the $1,000,000 mark, by far the largest customer of our
- education services. This is impressive considering General Electric and
- Ethicon are the Company's next largest customers with revenues of $203,600
- and $109,500, respectively. The Dearborn-based education business
- represents 34.5% of CV's current U.S. customer education revenue for 1992
- - $1,619,349 of $4,696,487.
-
- The key to our success is delivering quality service to meet the
- customers' needs at a competitive price, not necessarily the lowest price.
- It has taken us over a year to achieve these results with an ongoing
- process of building relationships, understanding the customers' business,
- and establishing a good team of CV people with the desire to be the best.
-
- A SINCERE CONGRATULATIONS to John Adler and his whole Administration and
- Education team for their continued and dedicated efforts to quality
- customer service and commitment.
