- Why does WIN386 take up 35KB when you initially run Windows, and about 7K once
- you have exited and run Windows up again? VTSR, MAPMEM and MEM/C all report
- this program doing this. I suppose WIN386 is the resident part of Windows in
- a virtual DOS session.
-
- One of our users is having this problem, and one of his DOS applications needs
- the memory, so he starts windows, closes it, and restarts it, every time he
- starts his machine.
-
- He is using:
-
- DOS 5.0
- Novell drivers NETX 3.26 IPX 3.10 on a 3.11 fileserver
- Clarkson packet driver NI5210.COM v. 10.2.2 and WINPKT.COM
- EMM386 is running with ems enabled.
- DOS loaded high
- Using Windows 3.1
-
- Any reasons why / fixes ?
