- Hi,
-
- we are in the process of setting up a Novell network, where PC's running
- DOS and OS/2 are connected to a Novell server. The RDBMS Oracle 6.0 will
- be running on the Novell server as well. We also want to connect a Unix
- box to the net, which will send RPC-requests using the TCP/IP protocol
- to an OS/2 machine on the LAN.
-
- I heard that now you have got a choice of the underlying protocol in Novell
- Netware (IPX/SPX and TCP/IP). Is that true ?
-
- If yes, would I encounter any problems when using the TCP/IP protocol ?
- Is TCP/IP supposed to be the "main" protocol to be supported in upcoming
- releases of Netware or will Novell stick to IPX/SPX ?
-
- If TCP/IP is supported I would of course prefer using that as the only
- protocol on the net.
-
-
- Does anybody want to comment on that ?
-
- Thanks for any info, Ernst.
