  12. I've been experiencing some trouble with a Japanese beta version of System
  13. 7.1 and MacTCP 1.1.  Whenever any control panel is changed, the next
  14. reboot crashes on loading MacTCP with a message to the effect that the system
  15. may be damaged.  If the system file is replaced with a backup, it boots
  16. fine, but of course the changes that were made in the control panel are not
  17. there.  Removing MacTCP allows control panels to be used, but then when MacTCP
  18. is reinstalled, it crashes again.  Is this a bug with 7.1, with the beta
  19. version, or with something else?  If so, does anyone know how to work around
  20. it?  Or do I just have to wait until the release version of Japanese 7.1 is
  21. available?

  23. Specifics:       Mac IIsi, 5Mb RAM, 80Mb HD

  27. Error:  boot up with MacTCP installed, turn on virtual memory (or change
  28.         any other control panel), reboot -> system file corrupted
