- I have an "old" MacII, currently running System 6.0.8, and I'd like to
- upgrade to System 7. My problem: an 800k-only floppy. System 7.0
- is available on 800k floppies, 7.0.1 is not. (Then, of course, there
- is also 7.1, also no 800k option.)
-
- My question: Are there signficant problems in 7.0 that have been fixed
- in 7.0.1, meaning that it would be a bad idea to use 7.0?
-
- If 7.0 is a bad idea, does anyone have a suggestion for how to get
- 7.0.1 onto the internal disk of the MacII? I know of two possibilities:
-
- (1) Pay the $500+ to upgrade the floppy. That gives me a second
- floppy, but costs a bit of change for something I wouldn't use much.
-
- (2) Buy an external drive and connect it to another machine to do the
- installation. At least this gives me more room to grow!
-
- Any other ideas?
