- I am seeking recommendations for a music editor for the Apple Mac.
-
- I need a program which will allow me to copy instrumental pieces from
- sheet music, `play' them using the Mac to achieve *reasonable* fidelity,
- do a bit of harmonisation, and then print them out. This will be used as
- both a learning and a composition tool. No MIDI involvement is required,
- at least at the moment, but it would be nice as an option for later.
-
- There seem to be both fairly low-cost (ConcertWare +, Super Studio
- Session) and very high-cost (Finale) applications which will fill these
- roles. What is the difference? What won't the cheaper ones do which the
- pricey ones will? Personal experiences welcome.
