  14. I am seeking recommendations for a music editor for the Apple Mac.
  15.  
  16. I need a program which will allow me to copy instrumental pieces from
  17. sheet music, `play' them using the Mac to achieve *reasonable* fidelity,
  18. do a bit of harmonisation, and then print them out.  This will be used as
  19. both a learning and a composition tool.  No MIDI involvement is required,
  20. at least at the moment, but it would be nice as an option for later.

  22. There seem to be both fairly low-cost (ConcertWare +, Super Studio
  23. Session) and very high-cost (Finale) applications which will fill these
  24. roles.  What is the difference?  What won't the cheaper ones do which the
  25. pricey ones will?  Personal experiences welcome.
