- I believe it's more like 6 or 7W, but you are correct that this makes
- it almost impossible to put in a battery-operated machine.
- Fortunately, Motorola is designing a low power version of the 040,
- which will eventually make its way into a Powerbook. However, I'd
- be surprised if Motorola has this chip out before the end of next year,
- which won't be too long before the faster, cheaper PowerPC 603 chip.
