- I need some help with a Mac 128
-
- I got it to try to see if the 64K drams could be replaced with 256K drams and
- make it a 512 cheaply so I could get some rough familiarity with the Mac
- platform. The unit does not boot. When powered on, it makes a very rough beep
- tone and puts noisy vertical lines on the screen. It gets no farther than
- this, but I think it is trying to put an icon on the center of the screen
- (there is a noisy little clump in the center).
- If anyone can tell me whether to suspect the motherboard or the video board,
- and if anyone has a spare 128/ 512/ 512e board that they have upgraded from,
- I'd appreciate it. I would like to give about $25 for a 128, $35-40 for a 512,
- and $55 or so for a 512e, but since this is dead, I'm negotiable. Of course
- I'll pay shipping.
-
- Thanks,
- Matt Hoffman
