  11. I'm having a recurring hardware problem with my PB140.  Of course its 
  12. milliseconds out of warrantee.  When the screen is entirely gray (such as the 
  13. default desktop background), I have vertical lines in the bottom-left of my 
  14. LCD screen.  The lines go from exactly the halfway point down to the bottom of 
  15. the screen, and give-or-take are alternating off-on from left to right.

  17. When items (icons, text, etc) are in the bottom-half of the screen, the lines 
  18. go a bit wild, appearing in various places (still vertically on the 
  19. bottom-half).

  21. This happens periodically.  Much of the time the PB140 is fine, then suddenly 
  22. these symptoms occur with verying degrees from mildly annoying to downright 
  23. disruptive.  This can occur at powerup or after use, and will go away without 
  24. warning.  I don't seem to have any other problems with the machine.

  26. The symptoms seem to indicate bad VRAM, but it might be a loose/bad cable.  I 
  27. sure hope it isn't a bad LCD panel.  Does anyone with PB140 HW experience have 
  28. a better indication of the problem?  I imagine the VRAM is surface mounted, 
  29. correct?  Any other advice?  Anything greatly appreciated.
