- After upgrading a Mac I have a few SIMMs floating about
- with no home to go to. I also have a one-off (non-Mac)
- system design which calls for 1Mbyte of dynamic RAM.
-
- Putting two and two together I quickly realised that
- SIMM sockets retail for about $6 so wouldn't it be
- neat to re-use the old SIMMS. I have the Mac family
- hardware guide so I know the pinouts for all the SIMMs
- used in different Macs. What I haven't got is any other
- info about the SIMMS other than they are 1Mbyte each
- and they came out of a Mac Plus.
-
- what I would like to know is the standard electrical
- characteristics, refresh rates and timing, that sort
- of thing.
-
- If anyone has any technical information on SIMMs in
- general and the SIMMs used in the macintosh in
- particular please mail me.
-
- thanks
- Graham Heyes.
