- I have a friend who has a old Macintosh II computer whose drive
- recently failed. He has tried all those Norton utilites etc, but
- he can't even locate the drive on the SCSI bus. It happened
- one night, when while saving a file the disk (it's an internal) made
- a clicking noise and the computer crashed. Upon clicking the restart
- on the bomb dialoge, the computer wouldn't boot of the disk, so he
- turned of his Mac using the back switch. After 25 minutes, he tried
- again and it booted up. But after 5 minutes of working, it failed again
- and the computer froze.
-
- Now he can't bring his drive back up and he really needs to get the
- data on the drive. The drive is labeled Quantum 280 or something like that
-
- Anyone who knows what the problem might be and can suggest steps, please help.
- The drive makes a clicking sound when the computer is turned on but it will
- now not boot at all.
-
- thanks for any help
