- I created a System 7 sound file with SoundEdit Pro which
- contained discrete left and right audio channels. When I listened
- to it through the external output audio port on my IIci, I get the
- 2 channel stereo sound that I expected. But when played back through the
- internal speaker, only the left channel was audible. I found the same
- effect on a IIfx. The sound wouldn't play at all on an SE.
-
- I'm confused...I thought stereo sound was mixed down to mono
- before playing back through the internal speaker. Or do Mac's playback
- only the left-channel of stereo sounds? Or did I create a "defective" sound
- file?
-
- [ If anyone is interested, I can send to you, via e-mail, the
- sample sound file I used along with an additional short, stereo
- QuickTime movie clip that I also used for testing ]
