  34. This is a WAIS database containing one-line entries
  35. from the USENET addresses database on pit-manager.mit.edu.  This
  36. database is also available via anonymous ftp in the file
  37.     pit-manager.mit.edu:/pub/usenet-addresses/addresses 
  38. Furthermore, there is a mail server interface to it -- send mail to
  39. mail-server@pit-manager.mit.edu with 'help' in the body of the
  40. message in order to receive more information.

  42. You can search for the address of people who have posted to the USENET
  43. simply by using their names, or possibly components of their address
  44. (e.g. domain names), as seeds words to search in this database.

  46. It is similar in spirit to the ``netfind'' server that Michael Schwartz
  47. from the U of Colorado, Boulder describes in his papers on resource
