- This is a really bad idea. The remote inits will make your life much easier
- as well as the users of the systems you are backing up. The remote inits
- allow the user (victim) to adjust the system load between their application
- load and the load caused by the file access for the backup job.

- 32-bit addressing is NOT required...no matter how much memory you may have.
- I currently have 20M of memory and have developed the policy of only using
- 32-bit addressing/virtual memory when I need it. Many older applications
- still burp if these features are enabled...so to skip the hassle, I disable
- these features. Incidentally, R/R works fine with virtual memory and 32-
- bit addressing on my SE/30.

-
- Yes...I rearranged the SCSI daisy-chain and the SCSI addresses...For some
- strange reason I fixed the problem!

-
- First, Retrospect Remote comes with a 10-user license as standard. You should
- look through your stuff to try to find the info. Serial numbers should be in
- the packaging somewhere.
-
- Secondly, using the remotes will save you tons of grief. Also, DO NOT NEGLECT
- to install "Retro.SCSI" in the backup machine's systm folder...It should
- increase your tape transfer efficiency by a huge amount if you have a
- compatable drive. And, as I think about it, if you do not use it, the drive
- may act flakey. I know for sure that the drive cycles much more often if the
- Retro.SCSI init isn't installed.

- I'm using all of mine...Sorry.
