- I have an AST Premium Exec Notebook that is about 6 months old. I noticed
- my battery was starting to develop a memory so I left the notebook on to
- do a complete discharge (first disabling the sleep mode). I allowed the
- battery to totally discharge then plugged it in for a full recharge.
- When I turned on the PC after charging the computer just locked up. I
- was able to boot by placing a bootable disk in the A drive but could
- not boot off the hard drive. This was overcome when I went into the
- AST configuration menu and resaved the configuration. Is this a common
- problem with notebooks or has anyone else encounterd this problem? BTW
- I should add that the computer locked up when it was trying to load the
- sleep driver....hence booting off the floppy that didn't load the sleep
- driver restored the system and resaving the configuration seemed to
- restore the sleep driver. Any comments??
