- I agree that limiting music on the GUS to MOD format would be a waste, IF it
- were standalone music in a music player or editor. However, when writing
- games it is entirely unpractical to support the GUS using all 32 channels;
- most people are listening to the music with Soundblasters and other simple
- DAC devices, and there is just no way to play music created for 32 channels
- on 1. Don't underestimate the MOD format. In the game (Star Control II) 4
- channels of the US are for music, and four for sound effects. The results
- are fantastic.
