- Okay...so far, so good...
-
- >questions...
- >How do i install it in my 386sx-16???
-
- Well, assuming you replace the motherboard, it wouldn't just be a 386SX/16
- anymore, now would it?
-
- >What part's do I have to look out for?
-
- You just have to make sure that you reconnect everything as it was before
- you upgraded the motherboard. Unless the motherboard is a different size,
- or shaped much differently than your original motherboard, there shouldn't
- be too much else to it. Make sure, though, that the drive bays (for example)
- don't get in the way of other existing hardware or (especially) expansion
- slots. If they do, then you might also need a new case--but they're fairly
- cheap (around $50, I think).
-
- >Can I tranfer the ram that came with the sx to the dx?
-
- Yes, if they both use standard SIMMs.
-
- >Information in general......
-
- Just a note for other people listening in...note that the motherboard also
- MUST be replaced. The 386SX has a 16-bit data bus while the 386DX has a 32-bit
- bus. I think the DX would be a bit confused by a 16-bit bus...
