- the .1 is arbitrary and subject to change. use /pub/DEC/Alpha/apps,
- which is permanent. if i'd had disk striping back when i began gatekeeper's
- ftp archive, the .1 would not be neccessary. with 6GB online i'm not
- exactly itching to back it all up and restore onto a striped set.
