  19. Hmm.  To check whether you are hitting a tar problem, or something else,
  20. just bypass tar for a bit.  Copy some data to the tape in Unix like
  21. this:

  23.     cat myfile > /dev/rst0

  25. Then see if you can copy it off under AmigaDos via:

  27.     type tape:

  29. If you can do that OK, then you have a tar problem.  If you can't,
  30. something else is going on, but at least you'll know where to look
  31. further.
