- I just purchased an NEC CDR-83 CD-ROM drive. I am having several problems.
-
- 1. The disks do not go in all the way. Is this normal? I haven't seen any
- drives which do this before. The drive seems to catch them a little, but they
- still hang outside a little.
- 2. The OS/2 drivers I have do not seem to work properly. I have what I am
- sure are the only ones that work, but are there any special flags that I might
- need to set to get it to work with my Future Domain 1680 SCSI card? OS/2
- seems to think that the drive is a floppy.
- 3. Any attempts at disk access seem to result in the disk being spit out.
- (Not that it went in very far to begin with) Also the disk will be spit out
- within 10 seconds under any conditions. The disks do not spin up at all.
- 4. There are no external terminators. Is the drive automatically terminated?
- I would guess so, but there is *nothing* in the manual about it and I would
- like to be sure.
-
- FYI I have:
- 386/40 w/20mb RAM & 64k cache
- Future Domain 1680 SCSI card
- Quantum PD170 SCSI drive (ID 0)
- NEC Intersect CDR-83 CD-ROM drive (ID 3)
- Paradise Pro VGA card
- OS/2 2.0
-
- Any help would be appreciated.
