- bits at video rates, and possibly a serial connection for commands.

- Hmmm. Every Adobe Emerald RIP I've seen (all two of them) have supported
- SCSI connections. I don't know if that is part of the Emerald design
- or something the vendors added themselves. We had an AGFA SelectSet
- 5000 for a while with a Star Plus (Emerald) RIP. The RIP didn't have an
- Ethernet connection, instead there was a little add-on that plugged into
- the SCSI port which had an Ethernet connection on it.

- We have another imagesetter with a SCSI connection which, as someone else
- has said before, emulates a hard disk, to the point of faking a BSD style
- disk label. I guess this is so you can use it on your Sun SPARCstation
- without having to know how to rebuild a kernel or add a driver to your
- kernel (SunOS 4.x).
