  10. Excuse me if this is an elementary question - I am rather a VMS novice (tend
  11. to write Unix shell scripts in DCL :-), but what I want to do is this.  I
  12. want to get the numeric result of a dir/siz/grand [dirname...] into a symbol
  13. in a DCL command file so I can compute on it.  In other words, I want the
  14. number of blocks contained in a directory and all its subdirectories to be
  15. the value of the symbol.  Sort of the VMS equivalent of
  16. symbol=`du -s dirname` if it were Unix.  Can anyone help me?
