- I'm finding that the file is growing 28K each and every time I
- _use_ an application by association. Some simpler activities,
- such as using the "Delete" option in a directory container add
- only a few hundred bytes at a time, and other WPS-y activities
- can add up to 40K. A co-worker of mine managed to grow his
- OS2SYS.INI from 100K to 500K over the course of one morning.
- Other weirdness includes phantom printer queues.
-
- Running the usual INI maintenance tools only temporarily
- alleviates the problems. Once downsized, the file starts to grow
- again. The only cure I haven't tried is to go the MAKEINI route,
- as I don't feel ready to recreate my desktop from scratch.
-
- I have reported this problem to IBM, and found that, as of Monday
- afternoon, one other person had reported the same strange
- behaviour. I've also seen reports on FidoNet and on IBM's
- OS2BBS. If anyone else is running into this behaviour, I
- strongly suggest that you call IBM Support and report it!
