- :) ---> If you are
- :)attempting to have a NON-windows application run in the background you
- :)will have to configure a .PIF file for each non-windows application
- :)(utilizing windows PIF EDITOR, included with the windows package), you
- :)will be prompted as to wether you want your application to "Run in the
- :)background.." during the creation of the pif file, along with several
-
- I'm now beginning to wonder if the background option under "settings" which
- is in the control menu of a DOS window overrides the pif setting. I would
- think so, however I often run PCPLUS in a window while I execute a query on
- the mini here at work. I click the control menu, select settings, make
- sure that I have Background checked (Exclusive is not, but then it
- shouldn't matter if this app is running in the background).
-
- This should work right? Wrong! My query runs fine on the remote system,
- but I get no output whatsoever in the window. I'd rather not have
- background checked in the PIF file because then (even with a background to
- foreground ratio of 100:1000) all of my other applications are slowed more
- than I like them to be.
