- I don't use version 8.0 of PCTools, but only 7.1, so possibly the
- answer will have changed. However, I am pretty sure that you will not
- be able to use ANY defragmenter except for the SuperStor one on a
- superstor partition. I've had indifferent to BAD experience running
- CPS "diskfix" -- before I upgraded to SuperStor 2.0 from the DR-DOS
- version, diskfix just didn't actually improve the fragmentation, but
- didn't do any real damage either -- with SS2.0 diskfix actually
- trashes the HD. (Don't ask me why I bother trying this, I know I can't
- give a good answer). Still this isn't really so bad -- the
- optimization bundled with SuperStor works fine; it's not as feature
- rich as Norton or PCTools, but it does the job. Don't know anything
- about your backup question, since I've had no similar problem.
