  19. The hints make adjustments based on the number of device pixel spanned by 
  20. the scaled outline, not based on the point size per se.  Hinting will have
  21. the same effect on a 10-point font on a 300 dpi device as on a 5-point font 
  22. on a 600 dpi device.
