- For Anonymous FTP Sites exists Archie, a database for all the stuff in the
- different Anonymous FTP Sites.
- What about an Archie for Gopher Sites? Each Gopher-Server makes an Index
- of the Stuff they have (Keywords, Hostname, Directory) and then this Index
- would be gatherd together in one database. Then it is possible to search
- for Keywords and the result is a list of Servers, with a remark, were to
- find the special thing.
- Example:
-
- Search for Mathematics:
-
- Results:
-
- sunic.sunet.se:70 1/Subject Tree/Mathematics
- laurel.euromath.dk:70 /
- vogon.mathi.uni-heidelberg.de:70 1/Matlab
- finsun.csc.fi:70 1/matematiikka
- laurel.euromath.dk:70 1/Mathematical Institute, DK
