  15. A deal between BCE (Bell Canada's parent company) and Cable and
  16. Wireless (Mercury's owner) means that BCE will pick up a 20% stake in
  17. Mercury while Mercury will invest $60 million (CAD$) in BCE Cable (UK)
  18. Ltd, a cable television company, according to {The Toronto Star}.

  20. Mercury reportedly has 7% of the UK telecom market, and wants to
  21. expand its residential services (but didn't say whether this was in
  22. terms of local loop, or better long distance access).

  24. Cable companies can use phone lines in the UK, thus all the
  25. connections between cable and telephone companies.
