- If you're on a physical terminal line you can interrupt with the
- terminal escape character, which defaults to ^^ (control-caret, or
- control-shift-six on most keyboards).
-
- If you are on a router, and actually making outbound connections is rare,
- you can configure your lines with "transport preferred none", in which case
- you MUST say "telnet host" to make a connection.

-
- If you use the "no ip ip-name" command in your config, then
- this won't be a problem and you won't have to use the transport
- preferred none. (Personally I have gotten used to not having
- to type telnet and I like it that way.) Apparently in non-9.0
- versions this was the default (no ip ip-name) and now in 9.0 it
- isn't anymore. (there is a description in the manual under this
- command)
-
- I found this problem to be a pain too because I always type the
- popular command, shint :-)
-
- Hope that this helps!
