- Most implementations include a PAD in the TA rather than giving direct
- access to the X.25. It is used for asynch terminal or PC
- communications, such as host access or PC file transfer. I have seen
- file transfers at 12 kbps or better achieved on the D channel. There
- are also specialized applications such as credit card authorization
- being implemented for this service.
