  19. Most implementations include a PAD in the TA rather than giving direct 
  20. access to the X.25.  It is used for asynch terminal or PC 
  21. communications, such as host access or PC file transfer.  I have seen 
  22. file transfers at 12 kbps or better achieved on the D channel.  There 
  23. are also specialized applications such as credit card authorization 
  24. being implemented for this service.
