- Do you want to drive FAST on a public highway? Check out the Silver
- State Classic in Nevada. It is held twice a year and they close down a
- highway and have a race. All that limits your speed is your safety
- equipment. There are several different classes with the top being 200+
- (unlimited). There was one accident this year, a driver misjudged the
- turn and went end over end. He was in the unlimited class. He had an
- injured foot and the car was around 3 feet shorter and no longer had
- any sheet metal on it. Another driver stated that if you were going to
- have an accident that was the car to have it in.
-
- I went this last time as a course worker and as a side benefit you get
- to drive the course before the race to get to your station. They say
- that the "limit" is around 80 at that point.
-
- I also understand that for a small fee you can get a ticket. Anyone
- want to ticket showing you were doing 140?
-
- The course is just under 100 miles.
