- Recently I have reviewed several papers which utilized a survival analysis
- where the endpoint was defined as the first time that a measurement dropped
- below some predefined level. While I would personally prefer to use something
- that utilizes the continuous measurements, the threshold concept has clinical
- appeal.

- Does anyone know of any literature which addresses the implications of using
- this type of model. Of primary interest is what is the loss in efficiency of
- the analysis as a function of the measurement variability of the outcome
- variable.
